Area Construction Manager

Viera Builders, a wholly-owned subsidiary of A. Duda & Sons, Inc., is currently seeking to fill a full-time position as an Area Construction Manager. A successful member of our team will be responsible for managing the overall construction operation for specific subdivisions. In addition, the Area Construction Manager's duties include:

Responsibilities:

• Hire, train, and manage construction department staff. Approve trade contractor selection.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of construction practices, materials, and procedures for all trade contractors.
• Consult with superintendent and others to establish standard construction methods as well as operating procedures for managing cost control, change orders, trade contractors, quality control, etc.
• Establish and conduct a construction safety program that meets OSHA standards and assures safety of employees, trade contractors, and others.
• Stay current on industry trends by reading publications, talking with material suppliers, staying involved with NAHB and state and local associations, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, and other legal regulations.
• Perform quality control inspections on all homes prior to closing.
• Point person for homeowner inquiries/frustrations.

Required Skills:

Bachelor's Degree and Contractor's License preferred. A minimum of five years of Construction supervision required. Strong personnel management and teambuilding background are required. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment; professionalism; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs; ability to communicate orally and in writing.
