Pay Range: $25.72 - $35.37 Depending on Experience

JOB PURPOSE:   The Dental Operations Educator is responsible for planning, managing, and implementation of operational education within El Rio Health. The Dental Operations Educator is responsible for assisting in the management, implementation, and monitoring of projects in order to collaborate and accomplish goals for clinical dental education and training.

 

Dental Operations Educator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of allied dental education strategies needed to meet the mission and vision of El Rio Health Centers. This position is responsible for assessing allied dental education and training needs with the execution of learning solutions to ensure employee competency, quality, and operational efficiency, using El Rio operating model for continuous improvement. This role supports the efforts for broad integration of a continuous learning culture, in collaboration with key members of the Dental Leadership, Organizational Operations and Education Manager(s) Teams. The Dental Operations Educator exercises decision rights over learning initiatives, consultation services, design, and implementation and creates the learning infrastructure to enable El Rio Health to successfully execute the learning network brand, products, and services. The Dental Operations Educator expertly applies modern learning principles and industry best practice standards, driving a culture of learning that leads to innovation.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for education operations including developing operational orientation curriculum and ongoing operational education.
  • Collaborates with Education Manager, Dental Leadership, and Operations team on the development of educational modules, tools, and resources for team members.
  • Performs various administrative duties to support the Education Department goals and initiatives.
  • Assesses ongoing educational needs of allied dental staff and operational leadership on an annual basis or as needed.
  • Completes operations by:

o Organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives

o Implementing and adhering to productivity standards

o Identification and resolving of operations problems

o Maintaining reference materials

  • Provides information to leadership, supervisors, and co-workers by telephone, in written.

form, e-mail or in person as deemed most effective and appropriate.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.
  • Controls expenses by gathering and submitting budget information, scheduling expenditures, monitoring variances, and implementing corrective actions in coordination with the Education Manager.

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years’ of clinical experience in dental hygiene, dental assisting, or a related area.
  • Previous teaching experience in a dental education program is highly desirable.

 

If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.

 

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

  • Current and valid licensure/certification in the relevant dental field.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.
  • Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment.
  • Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver’s license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:

  • Allied Dental Educator Certification from an accredited college or university. 
  • Seven (7) years’ operations experience in a clinical dentistry environment.
  • Experience in an integrative health care system (clinical, behavioral health, dental) and/or in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
  • Experience with effectively utilizing information systems, software, and technologies to design, develop, and deliver learning modules.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages.
