Position Overview

As the Assistant Vice President of Quality, you will oversee the quality assurance of client middle market survey reports through the management of the loss control quality review process. Your responsibilities will include supervising a team of quality reviewers, providing training and coaching, and conducting quality assessments of more complex survey reports. You will have 5 to 6 direct reports within your organization.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively oversee the productivity and revenue generation of the review team, handle daily operational tasks, and strive for operational excellence.

In addition to managing the loss control reviewers, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders such as clients, as well as colleagues in corporate leadership, sales, and technology.

Pay Details: 

 

  • Pay: $100,000-$140,000 annually


The Location

 

  • This position is primarily remote with occasional travel for company and/or client meetings.

 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the Quality Control process to ensure high-quality outcomes and optimal resource utilization.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients by consistently delivering exceptional service and quality.
  • Continuously improve the technical proficiency of the review team.
  • Serve as the authority on property protection.
  • Perform thorough quality assessments on intricate property risks.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to survey field personnel as required.
  • Provide clear and prompt direction to field staff for rectifying work that does not meet company quality criteria.
  • Achieve productivity and revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with carriers and colleagues to uphold quality standards.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in loss control within a field or technical capacity.
  • Management experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in evaluating various commercial business lines, particularly with expertise in property.
  • Thorough knowledge of NFPA standards, particularly NFPA 13.
  • Capable of assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of automatic sprinkler systems and water supplies.
  • Strong understanding of loss estimates (EML, PML, NLE) and the ability to create them.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous experience in Loss Control with a broker or carrier is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • CFPS certification is an advantage, but not mandatory.
  • Mature confidence and the ability to inspire and motivate others in a fluid environment.  Commitment, decisiveness, high energy and strong work ethic are essential.
