As an Inside Sales/Customer Service Specialist at Furrow Pump, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional service to our valued customers, suppliers, and team.  Responsibilities will include distributing leads to the outside sales team, processing orders efficiently, and collaborating with our team and suppliers to meet the needs of our customers.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, good work ethic, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.


  • Cultivate and maintain positive customer and supplier relationships.  Handle all inquiries/contacts in a professional manner.
  • Manage day-to-day order entries from phone calls, emails, online orders, and faxes. This includes monitoring sales inquiries, distributing leads to outside sales staff, creating quotes for customers, and converting quotes to sales orders. 
  • Collaborate with the outside sales team to provide solutions to customer problems. Help customers navigate product selection based on the needs of the application.
  • Prepare purchase orders for stock and customer orders.  Follow up with suppliers on order status, ship/delivery dates, special order items, and pricing discrepancies.  
  • Create and process documentation for in-house and factory returns.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, marketing, annual inventory, and meter repairs.  Help get products out to customers in a timely manner.


  • College degree or prior operations/inside sales experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office 365 and Teams. 
  • Experience with CRM such as Salesforce and ERP such as Sage 100 a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of small package shipments (FedEx/UPS/USPS) and some LTL shipment processes.
  • Excellent phone etiquette, along with writing skills to explain issues through email as needed.  
  • Ability to address customer concerns and communicate clearly and efficiently, convey a positive, customer-friendly disposition, and handle and resolve challenging problems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer-service focus with a passion to exceed customer expectations.
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and sense of responsibility.
  • Able and willing to learn a new industry, product lines, and the supporting components to help customers select the appropriate equipment.
