Summary: Under limited supervision and with significant independent judgment inspects insured properties to evaluate physical and operational conditions and promote safety programs by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Inspect physical properties and operations (such as buildings, industrial operations, vehicles, and products or services provided) to evaluate physical conditions and operational, safety practices, and hazardous situations.

 

  1. Observe business operations and management practices to determine safety issues and hazards affecting insurance premiums and losses.

 

  1. Prepare written report of findings and recommendations for correction of unsafe conditions.

 

  1. Develops recommendations to correct uncontrolled exposures, including acceptable alternatives.

 

  1. Consult with insureds to control losses and improve safety.
    1. Develop, implement, and monitor safety activities and programs, in conjunction with the insured, to control losses and improve safety.
    2. Provide verbal and technical advice to assist in compliance (e.g. written, e-mail, or CD copies of programs or training materials for them to use.)

 

  1. May provide leadership to junior staff by assigning tasks, training and providing guidance. May provide input to management regarding junior staff performance.

 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Level 6:   Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Certificates, Designations and Licenses:

Certificate in General Insurance or equivalent, ASP (Associate Safety Professional), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), or equivalents.

Valid Drivers License

A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
