FreshRealm is looking for a Quality Supervisor will serve as an expert in key factory functions such as quality checks, weights, scales, etc. Leads a team of Quality Assurance Associates through experienced decision making and management in relation to food safety, quality and legality while working closely with Plant Quality Assurance ManagerManages workflow and assigns Quality Assurance Associates to appropriate work areas. Exercises good judgment and discretion. Actively works to resolve team members issues while managing the day-to-day tasks. Oversees shift operational quality performance and works with production teams to monitor plant quality and provide guidance. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an expert in key day-to-day factory functions including but not limited to pre-op, x-ray/metal detection, quality checks, document review, calibrations, incoming materials AQL, internal auditing, supporting KPIs, etc.
  • Manages, schedules, and mentors Quality Assurance Associates. Gives positive feedback to help build the team's confidence and provides constructive criticism with training to develop their skills.
  • Identifies risk and creates plans to mitigate it on the fly.
  • Works with the site personnel to ensure adherence to the GFSI standards.
  • QA Supervisor will report progress, plans, and problems to upper management and other involved parties. Requests feedback from upper management and implements the suggested changes in as efficient a way as possible.
  • Train team members on SOP and processes.
  • Issue CAPA and non conformances as needed. 
  • Monitors and confirms cleaning of the plant against the Master Sanitation Schedule.Conducts environmental swabs. Works directly with the sanitation team for pre-operation inspections, ATP swabs, and product changeovers.
  • Enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s)
  • Performs other duties as needed 

Qualifications:

Skills and Requirements 

  • A min of 3 years of experience working in a fresh food manufacturing environment applying common processes, procedures, and equipment. Demonstrated exp leading the work of others
  • Experience working in high care environment preferred
  • Available to work early mornings and weekends as required
  • Demonstrates knowledge of HACCP & CCP’s
  • 1-year experience managing others working in Quality Assurance, Inspection, food, and/ or beverage manufacturing processes is preferred
  • Experience applying and enforcing routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in a chilled food environment is essential
  • Must demonstrate the ability to lead the work of other employees, assign duties and manage workflow/ production for a shift or in the absence of the Department Manager
  • Ability to work routine and monotonous processes
  • Must have a good understanding of English, bilingual (Spanish) speaking skills a plus
  • Ability to work in a cold/ damp environment and stand for extended periods
  • Possible travel for assisting other locations  

Experience / Education 

  • Experience applying and enforcing routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in a chilled food environment is essential
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education

    Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
