This role can be based in Linden, NJ as hybrid, or fully remote. The pay range is $107,600 - $119,300/annually.

We are looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security, scalability, and performance of business & enterprise systems and serving as an escalation path for our Helpdesk Team.This role requires a proactive approach to optimizing infrastructure, solving complex challenges, and collaborating across teams to support critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Infrastructure Design & Maintenance: Lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, primarily in Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS environments. 
  • Systems Integration: Manage the integration of various operating systems and applications, ensuring compatibility between Windows, Linux, and Mac systems.
  • Cloud Administration: Oversee cloud-based resources in Azure and AWS, including monitoring, scaling, and optimizing performance. 
  • Virtualization: Maintain and expand our VMware infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for critical business systems. 
  • Collaboration Tools Management: Administer collaboration platforms like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, optimizing their use to meet business needs. 
  • SAP Support: Provide support for SAP infrastructure, ensuring that critical business applications are running smoothly and efficiently. 
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure system security, data integrity, and compliance with relevant industry standards, including implementing best practices for identity management, endpoint protection, and disaster recovery. 
  • Automation & Scripting: Use automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency. 
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Serve as an escalation point for resolving complex system and network issues, coordinating with junior engineers, vendors, and cross-functional teams. 
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems, processes, and solutions implemented 

Qualifications: 

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python). 
  • Solid understanding of ITIL practices and experience with incident management. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to lead incident resolution in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.   
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure, AWS, VMware, Windows, Linux, Mac environments.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Certification in Azure or AWS (e.g., AWS Certified SysOpsAdministrator, Azure Solutions Architect). 
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Familiarity with SAP HANA and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.  

Education/Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Experience with SAP administration and integration. 
  • Expertise in virtualization, networking, identity management, and security protocols.

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location.  We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
