Starting Pay Rate: $17.00/hour 

General Job Description

Associate 1 will receive produce & raw foods, assemble, ship, label, and/or package foods to customers using manual assembly and IT equipment.  Follows all safety and health standards.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Receive foods, assemble Meal kits to recipe specifications, ship kits following Good Manufacturing Practices, and meet health and safety standards.

  • Works on a limited number of food areas, lines, processes, or items. Work is relatively routine from week to week.  

  • May regularly operate standard conveyor belts or multiple pieces of essential equipment (approximately 30% of total equipment).

  • Package meal kits following prescribed processes and procedures. Deviation from normal processes must be approved.

  • Rotate and check food ingredients for freshness. May receive products and ensure the accuracy of the delivery.

  • Keep work areas/assembly clean, demonstrating clean-as-you-go practices.

  • May be required to complete essential paperwork related to food preparation, packaging, or labeling.

  • Required to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as prescribed.  

  • In coordination with the team lead, identifies issues with Product, Food Safety, Quality, or Equipment and escalates matters to other departments or higher levels when needed.

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the Job

Skills and Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 months of experience working in a manufacturing environment applying common processes, procedures, and equipment.

  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices.

  • Experience applying and enforcing routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in a chilled food environment is preferred. 

Experience / Education

  • Ability to follow all appropriate safety standards in food production

  • Knowledge of basic math and reading comprehension skills

  • General high school degree/G.E.D or equivalent preferred
