Packaging Buyer
The pay range for this position is $53,000 - $74,000/annually. This is a remote based position.
As a packaging buyer, you will be responsible for the national procurement of a designated portfolio of packaging items. Your goal will be to order items on an as-needed basis to maintain inventory levels, ensuring that all required packaging materials are available when needed.
Key Responsibilities
The buyers will handle most of the purchase orders during a specific week. Their daily tasks are time-sensitive, with a primary focus on ensuring that necessary items are available as scheduled. This involves working closely with inventory teams and understanding the lead times and delivery methods for each supplier in their portfolio.
- Planning and inventory reconciliation.

- Update and reconcile inventory within the WMS
- Evaluating upcoming PO placement and needed facility transfers.
- Place Purchase orders based on a forecast.

- Place POs 4 weeks + out referencing supplier lead times & Min/Max inventory levels.
- Non inventory item management.

- Plan inventory 1 to 2 weeks out.
- Maintain inventory to within Min / Max levels.
- Reconcile accounts and calculate waste.

- Review any chargebacks for the week, cut Credit POs & communicate to suppliers.
- Calculate waste, work with analytics and category managers to capture forecast adjustments.
Qualifications
Skills and Requirements
- Proven track record of success in purchasing, pricing, and financial management
- Comfortable making quick decisions with broad consequences
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively influence all levels of the organization
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Self-motivated, innovative thinker with a passion for food!
- Excited to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Experience / Education
- 3+ years purchasing within packaging and food industry experience

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
