Warehouse Associate

Starting Pay Rate $14.85

Summary: 
This position is responsible for the operation of the Warehouse department.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performing shipping, receiving, stocking, and distribution activities for warehouse operation
• Maintaining and safely operating vehicles and warehouse equipment
• Following inventory controls and operating procedures
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of warehouse spaces
• Maintaining off-site storage facility and movement of supplies and equipment between Zoo and off-site facility 
• Support and assist other departments with special events and after hours functions as required
 
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
• Ability to work 5 days a week, including weekends (8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
• Ability to work special events and work after-hours events as required
• Basic mechanical ability
• Possess basic knowledge in computer operation
• Valid driver license with acceptable motor vehicle record preferred to maintain Zoo standards of insurability
 
Education and/or Experience:
• Customer Service experience
• Good communications skills
• Must possess problem solving skills
• Experience in an active warehouse environment
 
Physical Demands: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
