Job Summary

The Insurance Department Supervisor’s primary role is to provide training and leadership to all Insurance Department members. They should keep the team members motivated and assesses performance regularly. This position will help develop and implement time lines for departmental projects and track progress. Identify areas of improvement with processes and procedures, also provide necessary documentation. This role will handle and resolve escalated issues for team members. Have the ability to identify trends, the resolution, and follow up to ensure the issue is solved. This position is based at the Practice Support Center in Southfield, MI and is requires at least 4 days in office.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and approving timecards
  • Supervises direct reports by organizing and monitoring work processes and progress
  • Maintains direct reports by training and developing personal growth

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ability and self-confidence to communicate effectively and tactfully.
  • Makes necessary time card adjustments for Insurance Department team members
  • Assists team members with escalated issues, and provide direction
  • Assists Team Leads in making day to day workflow changes to accommodate high and low volume workflow.
  • Provides leadership, support, and guidance to the team.
  • Provides Informal feedback on an ongoing basis, and may provide formal feedback during performance reviews.
  • Participates in the implementation of departmental initiatives and strategies.
  • All other tasks requested by Manager

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent Communication and leaderships skills
  • An advanced understanding of revenue cycle
  • Analytical and problem solving skills with a passion for detail & accuracy
  • Reliability and flexibility with time committed to the position
  • Excellent organizational and time management ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent supervisory experience.
  • Prior experience with dental/health insurance administration
  • High volume, fast-paced office experience a plus
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience

 

Physical Requirements:

  • PSC:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
