Title: Fleet Supervisor

Location: Green River, WY

Key Responsibilities: 

•    Oversee safe, reliable, and cost-effective movement of railcars into, within, and from Genesis Alkali facilities to meet business needs and objectives.
•    Primary point of contact with Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Green River yard, and UPRR Ore Desk regarding car movements into and out of the sites.
•    Day-to-day management of third-party rail vendors (e.g., Savage, Mountain States) within Genesis Alkali facilities. This includes resolving issues and escalating.
•    Ensure coordination of rail car movements and yard operations with the Distribution Production Manager, Distribution Supervisors, and Specialists to meet and fulfill customer requirements.
•    Close coordination with ANSAC and Customer Service regarding deviation from plans.
•    Close coordination with Fleet Manager and third-party track and trace supplier (e.g., Intellitrans) to maintain complete and accurate fleet records, including fleet assignments, damaged and repaired   cars, and all activity impacting rail car fleet (Genesis Alkali and customer assigned rail cars).
•    Support budgeting process for rail car fleet, repairs, and track rehabilitation.
•    Manage end-of-month, quarterly, and yearly tonnage/rail reporting.
•    Responsible for oversite of track maintenance and budget at both Westvaco and Granger facilities.

Activities:

•    Extensive use of the Yard Management System, including periodic audits to ensure accuracy and provide training for hourly operators.
•    Monitor railcar movement and order cars as needed daily
•    Provide routine, proactive updates to sales and production on inventory holds.
•    Work with UPRR to plan and maintain local services. 
•    Investigate customer complaints related to railcar conditions timely and develop corrective actions and update complaint tracking systems. 
•    Manage the yard to maintain fluidity and minimize detention. Ensure exceptions (bad order, overload, etc.) are addressed promptly.
•    Compile monthly switching reports and timely submission.
•    Manage railcars into/out of storage to meet business objectives.
•    Serve as backup to Distribution Production Manager.
•    Review invoices for accuracy, coding, and timely submission.
•    Manage return of empty raw material railcars and coordination with utilities on coal deliveries.
•    Provide customer support, certification, and regulatory audits/inspections.
•    Enforce approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
•    Monitor Safety, HRP records, and SORRY +/-

Skills, Capability and Educational Requirements:

•    High school diploma and one year of line supervision, or college degree and
•    five years of railroad operation experience
•    3 + years of experience managing third-party vendors.
•    Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
•    Demonstrated leadership skills.
