PAY SCALE: $89,600.00 - $100,000.00 ANNUALLY 

                 

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under the general direction of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) Portfolio Manager, the Senior Project Analyst drives and delivers business process analysis and works/consults with projects teams including various business and technical partners to deliver value and achieve business strategy and objectives. The Sr. Project Analyst will focus on supporting project delivery including the elicitation of business requirements, the research and development of new concepts, ideas, and applications as well as the enhancement of current strategy, processes, applications, and infrastructure. This role creates validation plans and verifies requirements are met through requirements traceability, User Acceptance and End-To-End Testing, and Change Management. The Senior Project Analyst ensures consistency with credit union strategy, commitments, and goals. The role requires solid communication skills and an ability to build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved.

 

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible for work on projects, or parts of a program with moderate to high complexity. Provides support to at least one business domain or product (business capability). Partners with project teams, business, and technical partners to deliver value and achieve business strategies and objectives.

 

  1. Business Needs Discovery
    1. Supports work with project teams to articulate the business impact of business problems and contributes to the identification of measurable business value to ensure business strategies and objectives are realized
    2. Understands business problems and supports the translation of business needs into capabilities
    3. Partners with the business and project teams to identify unique value drivers
    4. Drive the evaluation of new business ideas, vendors, and business models across multiple business functions, defining impacts and solutions
    5. Adapts to ambiguity and supports resolution of conflicts, issues, and risks to remove barriers within the project/program teams while continuing momentum
    6. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.

 

  1. Solutions Management
    1. Collaborates with project/program teams to create and communicate solution vision and manages the prioritization of competing business demands to ensure delivery of business value
    2. Iterates prototypes, co-designs, and test processes of high value solutions with business and technology partners
    3. Understands technological constraints
    4. Clarifies the business rationale of a solution concept and recommends alternative solutions to a business need
    5. Identifies solution interdependencies and assesses the risks of various solution options including alternative options
    6. Contributes to solution options and supports business partner decision making to minimize the amount of project investment divergence from target outcomes
    7. Develop Request for Proposals (RFP), including business needs and product/service expectations. Analyze and compare vendor responses, collate vendor risk assessments (financial, physical, and electronic security reviews). 
    8. Partners with project teams to identify opportunities for creating reusable enterprise artifacts
    9. Communicates the value of new technologies and the tradeoffs between various solution options to meet business strategies and objectives

 

  1. Consulting
    1. Work with project teams to understand tradeoffs to achieving their targeted business outcomes
    2. Adjust expectations in accordance with changes in scope and navigates conflict between multiple business and technical partners
    3. Consults with business and technical partners to streamline work processes and maximize efficiencies to achieve business strategies and objectives
    4. Optimize business needs prioritization by influencing business and technology partners decisions to support iterative business value delivery

 

  1. Communications & Change Management
    1. Communicates effectively and identifies change plans across multiple areas to support project and organizational change objectives
    2. Works with project teams to identify an accurate view of challenges to end-user buy-in and ways to mitigate
    3. Leverages enterprise or industry specific best practices or lessons learned that impact the organization

 

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:

  1. Exceptional oral and written communication skills to interact with members, credit union staff and management, negotiate vendor agreements and manage project teams. 
  2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as personal computer, multi-use copiers and telephone. 
  3. Must be able to work on own initiative. 
  4. Excellent business and technical analysis skills are required to support the implementation of enterprise-wide projects, prepare recommendations, perform analysis, and to accomplish other analyst functions as listed.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines; may be required to work extended hours to complete tasks. 
  6. Carry and respond to smartphone 24/7.  

 

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. INTERNAL:  All levels of staff and management, including Senior Management.  
  2. EXTERNAL: Members, vendors, suppliers, government agencies, credit union industry associations and peers at other financial institutions.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems or Computer Science is strongly preferred. Advanced Degree in Business Administration or other related area is preferred.
  2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum eight years of combined experience in project analysis, coordination, and management with a minimum of five years of experience directly creating requirements and quality analysis. Experience supporting complex projects end-to-end required, preferably in a financial institution.
  3. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:  
  • Knowledge of financial products and services, especially as it relates to various delivery channels preferred. 
  • Knowledge of existing credit union products, services, and overall operational guidelines. 
  • Strong knowledge of business analytical practices and methodologies and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong research, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude and ability to work proactively and efficiently. 
  • Supportive of all decisions, choices, goals, and objectives as determined by PMO leadership and Executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to evaluate key business objectives and develop appropriate action plans. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to use logical reasoning when making objective observations, examinations, evaluations, and recommendations. 
  • Familiarity with common contractual language and contract negotiation.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required. 
  2. Corrected vision within the normal range. 
  3. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. 
  4. Ability to lift 20 lbs. as may be required 
  5. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc. 
  6. May require long work hours to accomplish tasks. 
  7. Occasional travel may be required locally, statewide, and throughout the United States to attend seminars and vendor group meetings. Overnight travel and evening schedules included. 
  8. Prolonged use of telephone to accomplish tasks. 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: 

1. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is preferred.
