PAY RANGE: $74,100.00 - $82,000.00 ANNUALLY

 

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Learning Professional II play a crucial role in assessing the impact of employee learning and development programs and initiatives. This includes but is not limited to New Hire Orientation, Career Coaching, and Career Pathing. They assume intermediate responsibilities related to the research, curation, program design, development, and delivery of learning and development programs whose goal is to enhance individual and team performance, ensuring our employees are well-prepared to achieve our organization's goals. 

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  1. Design, facilitate, and maintain onboarding and Learning Path development sessions and content in various mediums (virtual and in-person live as well as via our Learning Management System).  
  1. Contribute to the planning and logistics related to onboarding and employee development programs, including communications, coordinating, and scheduling sessions, evaluating feedback, and providing support for employees to ensure a seamless experience.  
  1. Develop and deliver exceptional onboarding experience for new employees.   
  1. Facilitate interactive workshops and training sessions, delivering an exceptional learning experience for participants.  
  1. Assist the Enterprise Development Manager with developing and maintaining instructional best practices for in-person, virtual and on-demand formats.   
  1. Assist with evaluating and identifying training needs aligned with succession planning throughout the organization on an on-going basis; assisting with developing training solutions to meet those needs.  
  1. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of learning programs. 
  1. Continuously evaluate and improve training programs to ensure their effectiveness.  
  1. Collaborate with subject matter experts and department heads to keep training programs current and relevant.  
  1. Research and curate trends for relevant content and design with a focus on consumable learning formats and practice application. Ensure the quality and relevance of externally sourced learning content and services. 
  1. Provide one-on-one coaching and support to employees as needed.  
  1. Administer and maintain the department’s digital tools including but not limited to the Learning Management System, course authoring tools, in addition to other digital learning platforms.   
  1. Develop and implement knowledge transfer programs to ensure the transfer of critical institutional knowledge and expertise. 
  1. Stay up to date on the best practices around onboarding, career development, and hybrid learning to uplevel the employee experience.  
  1. Collaborate with Enterprise Development team members on other projects, as needed. 
  1. Generate regular reports and analytics to assess the effectiveness of learning initiatives. 
  1. Conduct training sessions for colleagues on learning and development best practices. 
  1. Other duties as assigned.

  1. Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to present information positively, professionally, logically, and concisely.
  2. The ability to facilitate effective training sessions and create job aids and complementary documents to engage, educate, coach, and motivate participants by example in all training activities.
  3. The ability to multi-task effectively and to work productively with short timelines.
  4. Strong team skills and the ability to work constructively and collaboratively with management, peers, and other departments.
  5. Ability to communicate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences, internally and externally, through both written and verbal communication in technical and business terms as needed.
  6. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate a personal computer and other standard office equipment, such as multi-purpose copier and telephone.
  7. Ability to work closely with peers and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
  8. Make sound decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
  9. Must have the ability to work on own initiative.
  10. Must be able to work under tight deadlines.

  1. INTERNAL: All Employees
  2. EXTERNAL: Training Associations, community organizations and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.  Additional experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of experience coordinating and executing L&D programs including onboarding, leadership development and/or employee engagement programs. Minimum of 3 years of instructional design and facilitation experience in a corporate environment.  
  3. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.  
  • Ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt to various learning styles.  
  • An inherent sense of organization, great attention to detail, possess a keen eye for process improvements, and excel at handling multiple responsibilities at the same time.  
  • Ability to use data to create narratives and solve problems and uplevel experiences.  
  • Clear, professional, and friendly communicator, both in writing and in front of an audience, and who enjoys collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Proven organizational and collaboration skills, to manage resources effectively, and drive performance and collaboration.   

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Combined sitting, standing, and moving throughout the day performing work-related functions.
    2. Vision in the normal range to accomplish tasks.
    3. Hearing within the normal range required. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
    4. Frequent travel may be required.

 

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • A valid California Driver’s License is required.

Association for Talent Development (ATD) certification, SHRM, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
