PAY RANGE: $66,560.00 - $75,000.00 ANNUALLY
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Learning Specialist I is responsible for delivering engaging learning experiences for employees, aligning with organizational goals, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct interactive and engaging learning sessions for diverse audiences using a variety of instructional techniques.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and collaboration.
- Deliver content aligned with organizational learning objectives and industry best practices.
- Utilize a mix of instructional methods, including presentations, group activities, case studies, and discussions.
- Implement strategies to ensure the application and transfer of learned skills and knowledge to the workplace, including post-training activities and assessments.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to review and adapt training materials, ensuring they are engaging and relevant.
- Adapt and customize learning content to meet the unique needs of different learner groups.
- Adapt facilitation style and content delivery based on the needs and preferences of diverse learner groups.
- Leverage technology to enhance learning experiences, including virtual platforms, the Learning Management System, multimedia, and other interactive tools.
- Ensure seamless integration of digital resources into the learning process.
- Administer assessments to measure learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback to participants.
- Implement evaluation tools and gather feedback to continuously improve learning programs.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning by inspiring employees to take ownership of their development and seek opportunities for growth.
- Participate in collaborative efforts to enhance the overall learning and development strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, performance, and feedback.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of training materials based on participant interactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:
- Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to present information positively, professionally, logically, and concisely.
- The ability to facilitate effective training sessions and create job aids and complementary documents to engage, educate, coach, and motivate participants by example in all training activities.
- The ability to multi-task effectively and to work productively with short timelines.
- Strong team skills and the ability to work constructively and collaboratively with management, peers, and other departments.
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences, internally and externally, through both written and verbal communication in technical and business terms as needed.
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate a personal computer and other standard office equipment, such as multi-purpose copier and telephone.
- Ability to work closely with peers and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Make sound decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
- Must have the ability to work on own initiative.
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines.

- INTERNAL: All Employees
- EXTERNAL: Training Associations, community organizations and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION: Minimum of a two-year college degree or completion of specialized certification or licensing. Additional experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- EXPERIENCE: One to three years of similar or related experience. Financial industry experience is preferred. One to two years’ experience conducting training sessions, delivering training, facilitating on-boarding new employees, developing job aids, peer coaching, mentoring, or a combination of these experiences. Experience working with subject matter experts and instructional designers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Combined sitting, standing, and moving throughout the day performing work-related functions.
- Vision in the normal range to accomplish tasks.
- Hearing within the normal range required. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
- Frequent travel may be required.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
- A valid California Driver’s License is required.
- ATD, Sacramento ATD, CSU, or similar Train-the-Trainer certification
