PAY SCALE: $47.50 - $50.00 Hourly

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Sr Compensation & HR Analyst acts as a strategic and operational partner in all aspects of compensation.  This position manages, provides expertise, and administers the Company’s compensation and programs and provides analytical and technical expertise to the Human Resources department.  The position ensures day-to-day programs are competitively and consistently administered in compliance with all applicable regulations and in alignment with the Credit Union goals and objectives.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  1. Administer compensation programs for the Company including the development and management of base salary ranges and assist in incentive programs for the Company’s various business lines.  Maintains competitive structures and conducts on-going analysis to ensure overall competitiveness and consistent approach to pay decisions for all levels across the organization. 
  2. Work with the Compensation Manager and HR team on projects including analysis, budgeting, and benchmarking.
  3. Assist in administration of yearly compensation audits of equity and market data.
  4. Responsible for conducting market studies and analyses using compensable factors as it relates to internal jobs and external markets, identify market trends, and produce market gap analysis.
  5. Assist with classification reviews and makes classification/pay level recommendations at the job level as appropriate.
  6. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union      compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
  7. Ensure regulatory compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act and governing bodies by creating job analysis, documentation, and evaluation process; writing and modifying job descriptions; evaluating positions for exemption status; providing consultative services to management on FLSA law/CA Status and other.
  8. Provide support to management in developing and writing Job Descriptions and providing expert knowledge on compensation issues.
  9. Applies job evaluation techniques to establish equitable compensation rates within the organization as compared to industry.
  10. Participate in market surveys, formal or informal, ensuring that compensation programs remain competitive and/or consistent with credit union objectives.
  11. Maintain all Credit Union Job Descriptions.  Ensure Intranet site reflects most recent Job Descriptions. Compile and maintain information related to all Credit Union incentive plans, as made available.   
  12. Support the Company’s annual performance and compensation review process. 
  13. Identify and participate in continuous operational improvement initiatives.
  14. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:

  1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to asses quantitative and qualitative data.
  2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine, and telephone. 

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. INTERNAL:  All levels of staff and management.
  2. EXTERNAL:  Vendors, peers in financial institutions and human resources, and compensation organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  2. EXPERIENCE: 5 years or more experience in compensation and human resources.
  3. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
    • Possess broad knowledge of compensation principles and practices.
    • Strong analytical skills and mathematical skills. 
    • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
    • Demonstrated project management skills.
    • Human Resources skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues, present solutions and handle confidentiality of data. 
    • Ability to draw conclusion from analysis performed and present recommendations to senior management.
    • High level of confidentiality.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint. 
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
    2. Corrected vision within the normal range.
    3. Hearing within normal range.  A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
    4. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
    5. May need to work unusually long work hours required to accomplish tasks.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) Designation preferred.
