Rental Manager - Lift Systems

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

This position will oversee our business operations. The Rental Manager will be responsible for leading and managing daily rental operations to achieve business goals and maximize profitability. Duties will also include guiding your rental team, setting performance objectives, evaluating, and optimizing rental operational performance, ensuring regulatory and company standards are upheld, and preparing rental operations and financial reports.

 

Must be able to lead and manage people, ensure operations run smoothly, and achieve revenue targets. Must be able to perform efficiently in a high-pressure environment and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

                                                                                                                                                                         

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  • Manage rental operations with a deep understanding of branch and region financial performance as well as other key financial reporting for accuracy and take appropriate corrective actions to improve operational income/profitability.
  • Manage rental inventory planning, evaluating, and optimizing operations to be efficient and cost-effective in a manner to maximize profitability and market penetration. Work with the Asset Manager on rental fleet retirement to maintain proper inventory levels within the rental division.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, analyses, and reports of operations and finances. Co-develops the annual Rental Operating Budgets and Business Plans.
  • Work with divisional leadership planning and developing best practice of rental equipment processes and support to provide superior customer satisfaction to maximize efficiencies.
  • Leverage your current leadership skills to build and maintain a motivated successful driven team providing superior customer service with a “can do” attitude.Ensuring company standards and procedures are followed.
  • Plan and establish annual revenue objectives for rental in accordance with overall projections and assess performance to determine actions necessary to increase sales and/or profitability.
  • Market rental equipment by providing information and supporting data to our existing sales force, as well as developing contacts outside our existing territory and assisting with major rental accounts.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements in the rental equipment check-in, check-out, and maintenance process.

 

Leadership

 

  • Supervise the dispatching and logistics coordination for all lift systems outsourced local deliveries and dedicated truck equipment moves for NC, SC, & VA including branch transfers (NC, SC, VA), sales, rentals, service, demos, and loaners.
  • Supervise sales warehouse activity. Receiving and storing sales inventory professionally to meet customer satisfaction safely.
  • Provided daily and long-term leadership for the direct report associates to include but not be limited to the following activities:
    • Interviewing and hiring
    • Coaching
    • Training and developing
    • Counseling and disciplining
    • Dismissing

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Must have a four-year degree with two years of customer service-related experience or a two-year post-secondary college graduate with a technical or a business administration degree with four years of related work experience.

 

Work Experience:

  • Must have at least three years of group leadership experience.
  • Minimum of three years rental experience.

 

Physical: The ability to periodically travel and stay overnight, via car and /or airplane. Must be able to work for long periods while seated; Must have the ability to clearly communicate with customers on the phone or in person; Must have excellent customer relations primarily with verbal communications using the telephone or in person.

 

Other: Must have an intermediate skill level in using PC software, primarily MS Excel and Access. Must have a valid driver’s license with a GPEC approved & acceptable record.
