This is a second (2nd) shift position.

The Molding Supervisor is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Mold Department.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain all equipment in this area in conjunction with maintenance. Work orders are to be filled out and turned into maintenance on any work to be done.
  • Directly responsible for process sheets being used on all jobs.
  • Standard changes pending approval of the Foundry Manager and the Operations Manager.
  • Daily and weekend shutdown procedures and security of the department.
  • Direct responsibility for auditing pouring temperature.
  • Order all material to efficiently operate this area, pending approval of the Foundry Manager.
  • Responsibility for the removal of suspected bad nodularity castings from the cooling slide and truflo, isolating in technical quarantine area.
  • Turn in completed production, downtime, sign-off, and manning report sheets at the end of the shift.
  • Investigate all employees’ accidents and fill out an accident report.
  • Fill out employee status change form in a timely manner for transfers, pay increases, vacations, disciplinary action, and employee separation from employment.
  • Cover in detail the new employee orientation sheet with newly hired employees and return sheet to shift superintendent.
  • To achieve quarterly goals set for molds per hour for each machine, total number of good molds, and good pounds of iron poured.
  • Train employees in their present occupations and to cross train them in other occupations whenever possible.
  • Participate in all safety and quality group meetings.
  • Audit tooling by inspection of the tooling prior to its production and filling out the tooling work request form when it is unfit for production.
  • To maintain a minimum amount of overtime within their subordinate’s work group.
  • Audit employees’ performance throughout the shift to insure they are performing within the guidelines set up in the procedure manual. Also, to take corrective measures when an employee is outside of the guidelines.

What We Need from You:

  • Communication Proficiency.
  • Problem Solving/Analysis.
  • Associate’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in foundry.
