As a Metallurgical Lab Technician, you are expected to operate within our extraction and processing division, focusing on the design, evaluation, and monitoring of mineral projects. You will be at the forefront of innovative processing projects, providing insights and solutions to complex mineral and metallurgical challenges.

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Performs furnace and ladle iron Spectro analysis tests.
  • Completes reports, such as test bar results, furnace reports, entry of metal data in mainframe, and completes alloy usage reports.
  • Performs microstructure examinations when requested by the Quality Assurance Supervisor or Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Within duties and tasks, produces copies, files all lab data, assists sand technician(s) as needed, and maintains positive and team-orientated atmosphere with management, supervision, and hourly personnel.
  • Optimize and analyze mineral processing operations.
  • Evaluate mineral deposits, identify opportunities for improvement, and deploy specialist software for processing.
  • Analyze process efficacy, recommend adjustments, and implement newly developed technologies. Collaborate with other engineering employees and other specialists on extraction operations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

 

What We Need From You:

  • High School Graduate.
  • Ideally 3-5 years of experience within the mineral processing or extractive metallurgy sector. Familiarity with the latest mineral processing technologies and robust problem-solving capabilities a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software for the design and control of mineral processing operations.
