GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

To effectively extend customer service and case management to DDSN participants through training, mentoring, assistance with job placement and retention follow up.

 

To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which aligns with the success of Goodwill Industries.

 

To establish professional relationships with participants, associates, worksites, and referring agencies, and associates to positively implement Goodwill’s Mission in which goals and objectives can be met in the community.

 

To uphold Goodwill’s CARES+ values.

           

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Motivate and guide DDSN program participants to improve work functions.
  2. Advocate for program participants & associates at all times.
  3. Provide positive feedback, praise and encouragement to DDSN participants.
  4. Partner with supervisors to assist DDSN participants in learning and understanding job functions and expectations.
  5. Assess and monitor progress of DDSN participants, and provide input to Vocational Services leadership.
  6. Provide counseling, skill-based training, work accommodations, and career guidance skills to DDSN participants.
  7. Work with DDSN participants in developing and attaining desired goals by establishing objectives, reviewing and monitoring progress, and then recording results.
  8. Report to appropriate Vocational Services leadership regarding any work-related changes, incidents or problems in a timely manner.
  9. Communicate as needed regarding any external circumstances that may impact the work of DDSN participants to appropriate Vocational Services leadership.
  10. Complete timely and accurate reports/records (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
  11. Help participants and associates manage conflict and/or changes in their work settings.
  12. Manage DDSN participants’ files and provide accurate documentation for services, including progress and program completions and exit notes in internal/external software.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of all records and files ensuring HIPAA compliance, safe and secure in designated areas.
  14. Complete CVSA annually for all DDSN participants
  15. Assist participants with job retention.
  16. Travel as needed to meet the day-to-day activities for all participant services.
  17. Assist in following through with program evaluation and accountability.
  18. Perform all other duties as may be assigned.

 

 

Responsible to:     Director, Vocational Services

 

Education: Prefer Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related experience and education.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Outlook, Office365/SharePoint
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Knowledge of social service and community agency practices
  • Ability to network and develop partnerships with local employers
  • Leadership Skills to inspire and successfully lead others
  • Ability to:
    • Read, write, speak, and understand English
    • Carry out instructions in verbal and written format
    • Communicate efficiently and effectively
    • Interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds, and individuals with disabilities
    • Work extended hours and various schedules and travel frequently to local sites and work flexible hours.
    • Work independently and demonstrate time management skills
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Have a working knowledge and familiarity with basic ADA regulations
  • Acquire certification in First Aid, CPR, MANDT and any additional training as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to drive, have a valid South Carolina driver’s license, liability insurance, dependable vehicle and clean driving record. Ability to successfully complete a central registry check, criminal background check (local and federal) and drug/alcohol test.

 

Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include walking, climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.  May be exposed to dust and odors.  May be required to do limited work outdoors.

 

Safety & Security:   Responsible for following all safety, security, and money handling procedures, as directed by Goodwill policy. 

 

Work Hours:  8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday or whatever hours are required to meet the professional requirements of the job.

 

Work Attire:      Casual business attire; however, professional business attire when appropriate. Dress is to be reflective of Goodwill’s positive image in the community.  Each associate will present a neat and clean appearance at all times.
