GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

To lead the development, organization, and coordination of fundraising initiatives aimed at attracting financial support from individuals and businesses for Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands SC Inc. (GIUMSC)

 

To promote diversity, inclusion, and equity in cultivating philanthropic relationships.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive annual and long-term fundraising plans to meet revenue goals.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors through personalized communication, meetings, and events.
  3. Identify and cultivate partnerships with corporations and foundations to secure sponsorships and donations.
  4. Actively enhance GIUMSC’s presence in the 16-county service area, through special fundraising events.
  5. Lead fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, and special events.
  6. To produce quantitative and measureable results of all activities on a periodic basis.
  7. Utilize GIUMSC donor management software to track donor interactions, manage donor records, and analyze fundraising progress
  8. Work closely with the leadership team, Board of Directors, and volunteers to engage stakeholders in fundraising efforts.
  9. Manage fundraising budgets, track expenses, and ensure efficient use of resources
  10. To represent GIUMSC in community and professional organizations to build support for Goodwill’s mission.
  11. To perform all other duties that may be assigned.

 

 

 

Education:    Bachelors Degree with emphasis in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications or a related area.

 

Work Experience: Non-profit development experience is highly desired; five years of experience in sales, business development, and/or business management is strongly preferred.  Prior work experience developing relationships with business and community leaders in our service area is also strongly preferred.  Direct experience in the following areas may be required:

  • Fundraising activities such as donor prospecting, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Building and maintaining relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations
  • Organizing fundraising events, from conceptualization to execution, including logistics, marketing, and donor engagement
  • Understanding of nonprofit financials, budget development, and ability to analyze fundraising ROI
  • Developing and implementing fundraising strategies aligned with the nonprofit's mission and goals
  • Measuring fundraising success through key performance indicators (KPIs) and adapting strategies based on performance data

 

Qualifications:   Must be able to travel through the 16-county service area of GIUMSC on a regular basis using personal and corporate transportation. Must also be a self-starter and be able to work independently once objectives are established.  Must have strong logistics and planning skills and have a commitment of achieving results and attaining goals.  Should be detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills to best manage a variety of on-going projects. Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with stakeholders, board members, volunteers, and community partners.

 

Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include driving, climbing, balancing, reaching, talking hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.  May be exposed to dust, dirt and odors.  Will be required to work outdoors for periods of time, especially as it relates to GIUMSC/Goodwill Foundation fundraising events.

 

Safety & Security: Must have valid and current SC Drivers License with limited points for violations.

 

Work Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday or whatever hours are required to meet the professional requirements of the job.

 

Work Attire: Each associate will present a fashionable, neat, and clean appearance that will be reflective of Goodwill’s positive image in the community.
