GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

           

To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which enhances the profitability of Goodwill Industries.

 

To handle and provide support for various HR employee programs within the organization: performing all duties and responsibilities in a confidential, timely, and efficient manner in accordance with established company philosophies, corporate values, and “best practices” to achieve the overall objectives of the HR Department and Goodwill organization.

 

            To administer all benefits programs in a timely and quality manner.

 

To represent Goodwill in a professional manner to reflect values and standards of its mission, goals, and values.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. To provide superior customer service to associates regarding benefits and claims.
  2. To maintain confidential, accurate, and punctual reporting with key stakeholders including but not limited to Human Resources/Payroll partners, benefits providers, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  3. To record, file and maintain all records in compliance with HIPAA, COBRA, and Goodwill guidelines in a professional and timely manner.
  4. To review and communicate associates’ eligibility for medical leave requests and ensure compliance with FMLA and Leave of Absence guidelines.
  5. To present and offer benefits to associates during orientation, open enrollment, and in accordance with qualifying events.
  6. To maintain active and terminated associate group medical/dental benefits, including COBRA, STD, LTD, Life, AD&D, 401(k), premium payments and extension of benefits.
  7. To coordinate routine mailing welcome/termination letters, surveys, benefits notifications to associates to ensure compliance.
  8. To assist with the facilitation of new associate orientation, associate relations (grievances and complaints), work-related issues, terminations, exit interviews; coordinate and schedule random drug screens for associates and clients, etc.
  9. To effectively and efficiently deliver HR processes and programs to all internal and external customers, including day-to-day timely processing of scanned documents for the paperless office.
  10. To assist with talent management, on-boarding, diversity, selection, job posting systems by assisting managers to fill job vacancies by completing and submitting job postings within Goodwill and to agencies outside of Goodwill.
  11. To perform employment background screening for potential new hires, including participants as needed.
  12. To coordinate and maintain data integrity in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and personnel filing system such as: new hire information, associate changes, garnishments, direct deposits, etc.
  13. To perform all other duties that may be assigned.

 

 

 

Education:     Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - 2-4 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education, experience and training is acceptable where it provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Work Experience:       A minimum of 2 years’ experience in recruitment of both exempt and non-exempt positions and/or experience in other areas of Human Resources. Benefits Administration/Support and recruiting experience in a Retail Environment is a plus.

 

Skills: 

  • Must have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). 
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Should have a track record and proven ability to maintain confidentiality with privilege/sensitive information.
  • Ability to establish/maintain effective relationships with management staff, associates, and the general public
  • Ability to follow and execute specific verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with a high attention to detail and accuracy with work.
  • Ability to lead process improvement efforts and enforce hiring policies
  • Knowledge of general principles of recruiting, staffing systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of staffing, employment law, and human resources.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations related to employment and background checks

Travel:   Duties and responsibilities may require frequent and/or periodic travel within the assigned geographic territory. Must have a valid SC driver’s license with limited points.

 

Physical Requirements:       Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.  May be exposed to dust and odors.  May be required to do limited work outdoors.

 

Safety & Security:      Responsible for following all safety and security procedures, as directed by Goodwill policy. 

 

Work Hours:     8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday or whatever hours are required to meet the professional requirements of the job.

 

Work Attire:      Each associate should present a fashionable, neat, and clean appearance that will be reflective of Goodwill’s positive image in the community.
