With 90 years of history, Harkins Theatres is looking for a Facilities Technician to perform preventative and routine equipment and facilities maintenance for assigned buildings and/or properties. The Facilities Technician will also ensure assigned facilities are maintained and repaired to superior quality, minimizing downtime and ensuring a safe environment.

Perform preventative and routine maintenance of equipment and facilities for assigned buildings and/or properties. Ensures assigned facilities are maintained and repaired to superior quality, minimizing downtime and ensuring a safe environment.

 

What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Performs on-site repair and maintenance of assigned facilities.
  • Provides preventative maintenance and repairs for concession equipment, auditorium seating, restroom, lighting, HVAC, minor electrical, basic plumbing, tile repairs, drywall/painting, etc.
  • Provides junior technicians with guidance/instruction for completing work orders or repairs to company equipment and facilities.
  • Performs safety repairs for potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Performs odd tasks that may include hauling or moving boxes and other equipment, scaffolding work, roof repairs, etc.
  • Trains new technicians in company policies and procedures, including ongoing troubleshooting assistance and mentorship
  • Maintains factory-trained repair certifications, where applicable.
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair of foodservice equipment
  • Conducts monthly preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Initiates and updates help desk tickets, as necessary.
  • Coordinates repairs with outside vendors, as needed.
  • Regular attendance and physical presence at the work site.  Travel required between designated company locations and supply houses daily.
  • Records regular work, mileage and expense reports utilizing computer-based programs.
  • Must have current auto insurance at all times as well as valid driver’s license.
  • Must carry a cell phone and be available evenings and weekends for emergencies.
  • Must maintain and properly use company issued tools and materials.
  • Communicates effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Sets high standards for self while maintaining company standards, policies, and procedures to ensure delivery of the ultimate moviegoing experience at all times.
  • Maintains a professional working environment while setting a positive and professional example.
  • Requires bending, stretching, reaching, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking up/downstairs and on flat or uneven surface, lifting up to 75 pounds, interacting with employees and vendors, sitting, typing on a computer, speaking on the telephone, climbing a ladder/scaffold, problem solving, and cognitive skills.
  • Ability to organize and lead project teams as needed for larger projects
  • Occasional overnight travel (10%)

 

What We Are Looking For: 

  • College degree, trade school certification, high school diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems required
  • Demonstrates good problem solving abilities and awareness of surrounding issues.
  • Maintains a professional attitude and demeanor. Demonstrates unimpeachable integrity and accountability. Communicates professionally in all circumstances.

  • Demonstrates problem solving abilities and awareness of surrounding issues.
  • Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook and Word.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, manuals and schematics.
  • Able to perform and teach lock out- tag out procedures.
  • Able to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Flexible to work variable schedules and accept added responsibilities.
  • Reliable pickup truck or van and willingness to travel.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills. 
  • Organized with strong attention to detail and ability to exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
  • Able to focus and navigate aggressive deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and/orwith a team.
