Patient Accounts Representative, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation - Patient Accounts
POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Account Representative registers new patients, verifies and pre-certifies insurance for hospital admissions; monitors all patient accounts prior to the patient seeing the doctor; verifies all insurance information; counsels patients about their accounts and handles all patient complaints regarding the account; sets up any necessary pay arrangements.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; medical insurance knowledge preferred; computer knowledge; excellent people skills; ability to handle stress well and cope with any situation; professionalism.
The physical guidelines for a patient accounts representative include the ability to bend, stoop, lift, sit, stand, and walk for at least eight or more hours daily; articulate speech; ability to work at desk for up to eight hours per day.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:30A.M. - 4:30P.M.
