Production Shift Manager, 2nd Shift

Job Summary: This position is responsible for administering all programs and policies including: safety, food safety, quality, labor relations, sanitation, maintenance, reporting, and other various administrative duties.
Core responsibilities:
- Must be knowledgeable with GMPs
- Must have a thorough understanding and the knowledge of cost systems to include tracking daily cost, develop product standards, and understand and explain daily variance reports
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must display a great attention to detail
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematics calculations
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to organize and prioritize work schedule
- Coordinate, approve, and schedule Production Supervisor vacation time off
- Address food safety, cost, and maintenance issues
- Communicate daily with Production Supervisors and Managers in regards to information pertaining to business scheduling, cost, projects, and timelines.
- Assign tasks to supervisors and shift employees as deemed necessary
- Ensure that Supervisors are administering the correct actions pertaining to safety. attendance and performance issues.
- Assist in scheduling maintenance downtime and line modifications
- Coordinate and work with all lines of management to achieve the business goals
- Insure safety talks and line audits are conducted
- Review daily production reporting for accuracy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP
- Must have a thorough understanding and the knowledge of cost systems to include tracking daily cost, develop product standards, and understand and explain daily variance reports
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must display a great attention to detail
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematics calculations
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize a work schedule
- Ability to stand and walk up to 75% of the time scheduled
- Must understand and follow all safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required and BS degree or continued education is a bonus.
- 3 or more years of leadership experience in a high-speed distribution or manufacturing environment. Food, beverage or CPG manufacturing experience is preferred.
- SAP or other large ERP systems experience needed.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Proven experience training and development of team members.
