Sanitation Technician I- 2nd Shift
Summary
Follows procedures and SOPs to perform cleaning on production equipment to ensure safety and hygiene. May record information to reflect sanitation activities and issues. Advises/updates supervisor/manager of progress and or other non-routine issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Disassemble and reassemble critical equipment and pumps
- Understand equipment instructions, manuals, specifications, and safety requirements
- Read instruments and record all required data
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas
- Remove trash and debris
- Additional duties as assigned
Clean and sanitize the following areas:
- Production areas
- Packaging areas
- Walls and Ceilings
- All equipment including elevated conveyors
- Exterior plant area as needed
Perform food safety and quality testing including:
- Titration levels
- APC Swabs
- Allergen testing
- LRN Swabs
After training safely operate:
- Floor scrubber
- Pallet Jacks
- Boom lift
- Scissor lift
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; at least six months experience in a sanitation production environment preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Manufacturing environment - exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures.
Depending on which location, our environments can be very warm or refrigerated.
Team environment - must be able to work well with others and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
Ability to stand up to 80% of the time scheduled
Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted and 40-75 lbs. assisted.
