RN Position Summary:

Hosparus Health utilizes the Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practice model to provide change, learning, and professional competence and growth among staff. The NPD Generalist assumes responsibility for orientation/onboarding, competency management, education, role development, collaborative partnerships, and research/evidence-based practice and quality improvement. The NPD Practitioner uses tools, theories, skills and knowledge of NPD to improve the practice of staff.

RN Position Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Orientation/onboarding: Develops, coordinates, facilitates, and conducts onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare professionals.
o    Conducts orientation in a manner that facilitates a positive learning environment.
o    Coordinates logistics of orientation keeping all stakeholders informed.
•    Competency Management: Develops, coordinates, and conducts competency programs.
o    Identifies learning needs.
o    Plans educational content with learner engagement
•    Education: Designs education activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, which may include licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals. Activities are developed to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill, or practice.
o    Assesses practice gaps.
o    Supports new ideas and innovation.
•    Professional Role Development: Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning. Participates in appropriate professional development programs to attain and maintain competency.
o    Participates in lifelong learning.
o    Directs staff to career advancement resources. 
•    Research/Evidence-based Practice (EBP)/Quality Improvement (QI):  Promotes research, EBP, and QI in patient care settings. May encourage, facilitate, and/or participate in research, EBP and QI, including dissemination of findings. 
o    Assists in the implementation of change strategies.
o    Participates in research activities and quality initiatives.
•    Collaborative Partnerships: Collaborates with partners to share expertise in planning and decision making to achieve desired results. 
o    Works collaboratively with interprofessional teams as assigned.
o    Provides clinical consultation 
o    Participates on committees/teams on an ad-hoc basis
•    Other duties as assigned.

RN Position Qualifications:

•    Current RN license to practice nursing in Kentucky and Indiana.
•    Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field required.
•    Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
•    Minimum of four years clinical experience required.
•    Possess a current BLS certification from an accredited training provider, such as the American Heart Association
•    Nursing Professional Development (NPD) certification preferred or obtained within three years.
•    Minimum of two years experience in nursing education/competency evaluation preferred.
•    Minimum of two years of hospice or home health experience preferred.
•    Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and EMR platforms.
•    Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of department and organizational objectives. 
•    Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple assignments with high level of quality and productivity.
•    Strong problem-solving skills. 
•    Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
•    Flexibility to travel to sites within the organization’s service area, which may include night and weekend events or travel.
