CalWORKs Mental Health Supportive Services Program is an outpatient program that provides both a comprehensive and integrated array of Mental Health Services, Targeted Case Management Services, Medication Support Services, and Crisis Intervention Services to adults who experience mental health barriers to employment.

The primary responsibilities of the Clinical Team Leader include providing leadership and staff operational assistance to an assigned clinical treatment team, as well as to provide excellent direct client care. The primary objective of the Clinical Team Leader is to support the administrative functions of the assigned team, help ensure the provision of quality client care, and support effective team performance to meet agency goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to assigned caseload about 50% of the time.
  • Provider leadership within a treatment team in collaboration with the assigned supervisor, manager, or program director.
  • Assist in crisis and symptom management within assigned programs by providing 24 hour 7 day per week after-hours coverage and/or on-call supervision on rotation with other clinicians. LPS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Develop effective individualized problem lists and monitor consumer progress.
  • Assist in ongoing maintenance of consumers’ charts, program reporting requirements, and other related administrative, reports, or documentation tasks as assigned. 
  • Ensure that clinical documentation in client record is of high quality including timely submission.   
  • Arrange work schedule in accordance with the agency’s needs. 
  • Attend regular staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Provide clinical crisis assistance, as needed, within scope of practice.
  • Responsible for ensuring that own and supporting the team’s submission of documentation in accordance with program requirements and in compliance with all regulatory requirements and Prototypes’ policies and procedures.
  • Ensure clinical documentation in client records is of high quality including timely submission within 72 hours of service.
  • Arrange work schedule in accordance with the agency’s needs.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Comply with agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Meet expected performance hours as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
Education Requirements:

  • MA, MS, or doctoral degree from regionally accredited graduate program.

Experience:

  • Two years of experience delivering behavioral health services within an outpatient behavioral health clinic strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with program administrative tasks preferred.
  • Experience teaching or directing the work of others strongly preferred.

Background Clearance Required:

  • CDCR fingerprint clearance.
  • Must pass background/criminal history check.
  • Must have valid CA driver’s license and current automobile insurance.

Knowledge Required:

  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.
  • Spanish language ability preferred but not required.
