This is a fantastic opportunity for those committed to the agency’s mission of helping people get better, do better, and be better. As part of a dynamic team responsible for all agency electronic health record systems, you are responsible for the EHR reconciliation, and submission of our high-volume SUD and MH services in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. This is a fast-paced position that requires a keen eye for detail and is ideal for those dedicated to dotting their “i’s” and crossing their “t’s”.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for San Francisco and San Mateo County EHR (non-fiscal) billing and service submission processes and procedures, including upload, verification, compilation, and posting.
  • Coordinate with HR360 fiscal team on related billing matters where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with program admissions staff and management on efficient processing of eligibility checks, authorizations, auditing, corrections, and claims submission.
  • Regularly review and reconcile claims to prevent aging in accordance with county funding and contractual requirements.
  • Complete weekly reconciliation of program and service data between Welligent and county EHR systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years’ experience in billing department.
  • High degree of accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Previous non-profit behavioral/mental healthcare agency experience.
  • Strong verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Experience using billing software; Welligent, Epic, Avatar preferred.

Background Clearance Required: 

  • Must not be on active parole or probation.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of San Francisco CBHS/BHS and San Mateo County BHRS systems of care.
  • Understanding of Medi-Cal and other billing authorization processes and procedures, CalOMS.
  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and internet applications.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel (including formula use), Word, and Outlook skills.
