Job Overview
 
Prototypes CHS-SUD Substance Treatment and Reentry Transition (START) provides direct in-custody SUD counseling, group therapy, and case management services to up to 150 women located at the Century Regional Detention Center (Lynwood County Jail). START services are evidence-based and culturally appropriate that utilize cognitive behavioral therapies and motivational interviewing approaches to treat addiction. The LPHA Supervisor provides clinical oversight of the day-to-day operations of the CHS-SUD program at the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF) in Lynwood Correctional Facility. The LPHA Supervisor ensures that all clinical services provided are evidence-based, strength-based, trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally competent and provided in an ethical and legal manner and in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360’s policies, procedures, mission, vision, and program regulations. 

Key Responsibilities

Direct Service:

  • Provide thorough clinical assessments, diagnoses, individual and group services to a caseload of clients in need of substance use disorder treatment.
  • Work with the client to develop client-centered treatment plans.
  • Monitor treatment progress and update the treatment plan as needed.
  • Provide thoughtful discharge planning to ensure the client's safe transitions.
  • Provide crisis assessment and intervention as needed.
  • Monitor caseloads and ensure that clinical staff provide evidence-based, strength-based, trauma-informed, client-centered approach, and culturally competent services in an ethical and legal manner, within scope of practice, and in accordance with program requirements, HealthRIGHT 360’s policies and procedures, and all other regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain treatment plans.
  • Ensure that clinical staff submits documentation in accordance with program requirements and HealthRIGHT 360’s policies and procedures to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
  • Review and sign off on American Science of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessments and treatment plans.
  • First line of consultation for clinical staff regarding counseling functions, treatment methods, and client interventions.
  • Collaborate with the other departments to ensure compliance with policies and procedures as it relates to day-to-day clinical operations.
  • Provide back-up coverage for other supervisors and managers as needed and as assigned to ensure that program requirements are met. 
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop, maintain, and implement systems, policies, procedures for the clinical staff to meet county contracts, performance requirement, treatment matrix, and other program requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and development opportunities for clinical staff. 
  • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Read and respond to emails as appropriate.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Possess a current registration or licensure with California Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT, APCC, ACSW, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW).
  • Possess current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Experience:

  • Two years’ experience treating clients with co-occurring use disorders.
  • At least one year experience supervising clinical staff.
