Job Overview
 
This is a union position.

 

Prototypes in Pomona provides mental health services to clients ranging from children to adults. Programs consist of Prevention and Early Intervention, Outpatient Clinical Services, Full Service Partnership and AB109. Services are provided in the office, via telehealth and/or in the community. These services include individual/group therapy, case management, rehab services as well as medication support services.

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for delivering direct care and supporting the training of graduate level interns.  Work well in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Possesses excellent time management and documentation skills. Knowledgeable about using OT to treat children, adults and families, as well as the systems that surround them in behavioral health settings. OT services may be provided in an outpatient office, residential treatment facility or in the field based on client and program needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family and group OT services to clients and their collaterals.
  • Provide Case Management and rehab services as needed to parents/caregiver and assigned clients.
  • Assess areas of need and develop individualized treatment plans for clients in areas of regulation/sensory integration, cognitive/executive functioning, occupational deprivation, independent living skills, play skills, connectedness with others, and other functional deficits as identified.
  • Ensure clinical documentation in clients record is of high quality and meets professional standards.
  • Maintain and update occupational therapy assessment and treatment materials including researching items and making funds requests.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Master Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university highly preferred, bachelors in OT required
  • Preferably a minimum of two years experience in the human service field
  • Knowledge of and experience with providing trauma informed services preferred
  • CA Drivers License and insurance
