The Integrated Care Center Clinic is a federally qualified health centers that provide primary care, behavioral health, addiction treatment, psychiatry, dental care, and more. We provide care to those most in need including those who are suffering from homelessness, mental illness, substance use, mental illness, and chronic medical conditions. We provide team based care in an integrated care setting. Interested in working with a multi-disciplinary team in a non-judgmental environment to meet the needs of patients in an integrated primary care, addiction treatment, behavioral, and oral healthcare? At our Integrated Care Center, primary care providers work with a team of nurses, medical assistants, case managers, mental health providers, dentists, addiction providers, and other specialists to deliver care and improve health outcomes for underserved populations.

The Staff Clinician acts as a clinical leader by providing quality primary care services to our patients, helping to grow the overall practice, and promoting team functioning. They provide acute, chronic and preventive medical care with an emphasis on primary care of different ages, races/ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds. The Staff Clinician provides team-based care in close collaboration with nursing staff, medical assistants, office staff, and other ancillary staff. They also work collaboratively with mental health providers and case managers to ensure patients receive whole-person care. They exemplify strong technical abilities and the ability to work with vulnerable populations in a trauma-informed manner.  

Key Responsibilties:

Clinical:
• Provide comprehensive care, within the scope of credentialed privileges and according to pre-arranged schedules
• Maintain productivity standards as assigned by supervisor through appropriate scheduling and monitoring of no-show rate. Complete patient sessions in a timely manner
• Provide on-call after-hours availability on a rotating basis, as requested by supervisor

Leadership:
• Provide clinical leadership to support staff, including nurses, medical assistants, patient care coordinators, front office staff and receptionists. Provide clinical support to APPs (NP/PA).
• Work collaboratively with mental health staff to facilitate integration between primary care and mental health in order to improve patient outcomes
• Collaborate with client care coordinator, MAs and RNs to manage patient follow-up related to referrals, abnormal labs & findings and other clinically warranted follow-up

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience Required:
• Graduation from an accredited medical school 
• Valid California professional license without any limitations to practice
• Board certification
• BLS/CPR certification
• DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certification
• Minimum 2-3 years of practice in community health center or relevant practice/experience

Preferred:
• Experience working in a federally qualified health center
• Experience working with populations with varying lifestyles, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnic and culture backgrounds and economic status           
• Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self sufficiency
• Two years’ experience in women’s health and primary care experience, preferably in a community setting, including performing IUD insertions and long-acting hormonal device implantation
• Bilingual Spanish/English
