HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill the SUD Supervisor position at our Adult Outpatient program in San Francisco, CA! The ideal candidate has experience supervising staff who are working in counseling, case management, the SUD field, harm reduction, group facilitation, collaborating as part of a team, and partnering with other organizations. In this position you will gain invaluable experience working with a diverse population and with a multidisciplinary team in a harm reduction and trauma-informed treatment setting. Sound interesting? HealthRIGHT 360 has provided outpatient services for behavioral health disorders since 1985. The San Francisco Outpatient Program is specifically designed for people who struggle with substance use disorders, mental health issue/co-occurring disorders, and criminal justice involvement. The Outpatient Program works with high-risk populations from a variety of backgrounds providing trauma-informed care aimed at reducing the harmful impacts of substance use. Our programs are open and welcoming to adult participants of any gender identity. We accept the majority of participants who seek Outpatient treatment, including walk-in’s, referrals from other agencies, and step-down transitional clients from residential treatment programs. Participants and their counselors work collaboratively to design an integrated, individualized, strengths-based treatment experience geared towards addressing each client’s specific needs and goals.

The SUD Supervisor supervises and manages staff to ensure the provision of quality client care and effective team performance to meet agency goals in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360’s philosophy, goals, policies, mission, and vision.  The SUD Supervisor is responsible for overseeing client care as it relates to staff scheduling, outside agency relations, and other tasks as assigned, as well as other daily activities essential to incorporating the agency’s mission and values as a part of our service delivery.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing direct supervision, training, and guidance to the direct service staff assigned. 
  • Assist management with interviews, selection, hires, and terminations.
  • Ensures all direct reports are in compliance with HR360’s policies, procedures, and position expectations and performance goals.
  • Conducts staff meetings as needed and ad hoc staff huddles at the start of each shift worked, delegates staff assignments during each shift.
  • Deliver and arrange training and resources to ensure that direct reports are successful in their roles.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, support, and conduct formal performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for direct reports’ performance. Team performance includes productivity, contract utilization, and the quality of services provided by the team.
  • Maintain open communication with the manager concerning employee matters/needs, client assignment, workload distribution across the team, and seek consultation when needed.
  • Assign clients to staff’s caseload.
  • Ensure that all treatment service plans and activities are executed in keeping with the organization’s values, mission, vision, and strategy.
  • Ensure that all direct reports submit documentation in accordance with program requirements and in compliance with all regulatory requirements and agency’s policies and procedures. This includes timeliness of documentation with progress notes being completed no later than the following business day, assessments, treatment plans, and discharges occurring on time.
  • Provide services within the scope of practice, which may include crisis intervention, assessments, individual and group counseling, case conferences, educational groups, and treatment plans as assigned.
  • Assume ownership for any crisis as it relates to service delivery and see it through to completion.
  • Maintain documentation of services provided in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360’s policies and procedures to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.

 

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with Substance Use Disorder Counselor Registration or Certification from an accredited California agency (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP) or Master's degree from an accredited university with Board of Behavioral Sciences Registration or Licensure (AMFT, APCC, ACSW, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW).
  • Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal justice involvement, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
  • At least 1 year experience providing direct counseling to clients/patients.
  • Experience supervising staff working in counseling, case management, SUD/mental health treatment settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. 
  • First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment. 
  • CPR Certified within 30 days of employment. 

 

Background Check and Other Requirements:

  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check. Applicants must not be on parole or probation due to funding regulations. Qualified candidates with a criminal record will be considered for employment.
  • Capable of meeting health screening and tuberculosis testing requirements.
  • Capable of meeting program requirements.
  • Capable of meeting credential requirements.
