Job Overview
 
The Workforce Development Coordinator  will be responsible for building enhanced apprentice and mentorship programs. They will collaborate with internal stakeholders to build processes and placement plans for all participants.
They will build the application and onboarding processes, create new training and reporting plans to maintain a successful program. Responsibilities will also include, community outreach and program management to include recruitment, screening and placements.

The Workforce Development Programs Coordinator provides administrative and organizational support to the organization's intern and readiness programs statewide.   

The coordinator is responsible for supporting the administrative operations of the Mentored Internship Program (MIP), all standard internships and the Training and Apprenticeship Program (TAAP) with an end goal of ensuring the program’s success meeting goals, objectives, and deadlines.  The coordinator provides support to the intern and readiness program’s team management and on-site program leadership, supervisors, and Mentors and follows through on deliverables and contract requirements.  

The coordinator is a crucial part of the Intern, Mentor and Readiness Programs Team.  They work independently and collaboratively in Northern CA and agency-wide to build and maintain a strong, supportive, and creative Intern, Mentor and Readiness programs. This position is predominantly in office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the intern, mentor, and readiness programs in building and maintaining liaisons with the agency's educational partners, schools and other training programs, developing and supporting outreach methods to form new relationships and build existing relationships with community partners, and creating, and updating program literature, forms, and flyers.
  • Maintains intern and apprentice placement and tracking systems. 
  • Plans and facilitates welcome/orientation and graduation/appreciation events. 
  • Collaborates in delivering a robust onboarding and training plan for interns and apprentices. 
  • Works directly with program leadership and clinical supervisors to ensure interns are receiving their required supervision and meeting the requirements of their practicum programs. 
  • Ensures student compliance with documentation. 
  • Communicates with interns and supervisors to check in on progress. 
  • Responds and follows up to all volunteer, intern, and apprentice emails and applications. 
  • Provides virtual and in person, non-clinical, training to interns and apprentices. 
  • Provides statewide mentor training and support. 
  • Conducts agency and program specific presentations to community and educational partners. 
  • Supports agency wide recruiting efforts as an exhibitor at job fairs and conferences.  

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Education/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 1-3 years volunteer or intern management experience, or equivalent.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Experience: 

  • Project management.
  • Working with external community partners and building relationships.
  • Experience working at a nonprofit behavioral health agency.
  • Exposure to substance use disorder treatment modalities.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory background check and live scan clearance.
