Description: Harris Beach PLLC seeks an energetic, knowledgeable mid-level litigation associate to assist with all types of business and commercial litigation matters in a thriving and highly productive litigation practice.

 

The Litigation Associate will have the opportunity to:

 

  • Obtain significant state and federal trial experience in a team environment
  • Oversee a significant case load from inception
  • Meet and create contacts with New York State and Federal Court personnel
  • Actively participate in their career development and growth, practically and professionally
  • Argue before State and Federal Courts; Represent our clients in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedings
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Be an active research team member to assist clients with various factual and legal issues
  • Collaborate with senior partners on case management and strategy
  • Draft legal documents, i.e. motions, pleadings, memoranda, discovery demands
  • Obtain experience factually researching business and corporate policies, and programs by examining records and transactions underlying business disputes and investigations 

 

Applications are encouraged and desired if you have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in litigation required
  • Admission to NYS bar (or ability to waive in)
  • Juris Doctorate from ABA accredited law school required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • High level organizational skills
  • Ability to absorb, process and understand, new information rapidly
  • Conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Capability of functioning with differing personalities and prioritizing important matters and dates organization
  • Military experience welcome

Salary information below will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position and geographic locations.
