Job Summary                    
Under the direction of the Mold Maintenance Supervisor, the Mold Maintenance Techs are responsible for evaluating, maintaining and repairing of molds. Also completing all necessary mold conversions.  This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.                    
                    
Essential Functions:                    

  • Responsible for cleaning all injection molding tools at the end of each production run.    
  • Completely field strip mold according to PM schedule.                    
  • Make repairs or replace components as needed notifying management of repairs or replacements beyond in-house capability.                    
  • All work is to be documented in tooling files and computer databases.             
  • Test and repair problems related to heaters, manifolds, and torpedoes.                    

Other Functions                    

  • Maintain work area and clean shop and equipment on a regular basis.                
  • Keep Mold Maintenance Supervisor posted of any supplies/tools needed.            
  • Build shipping crates for molds being repaired by outside vendors.                
  • Keep mold vault organized.                    
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.                    
  • Keep the ultrasonic tanks clean.                    
  • Required Personal Protective Equipment * safety shoes are to be worn at all time during your scheduled work hours. * Department manager/supervisor will cover additional PPE as required on department specific work instructions.                     
  • All employees entering the manufacturing area and other identified locations must wear the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).                    
  • Wearing your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a condition of employment.                                    

Success in this role will require

  • Must be able to be fork lift certified at HellermannTyton.                    
  • Completed compentencies for Mold Maintenance Technician I and Mold Maintenance Technician                            

What You'll Bring                   

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.                    
  • Above average mechanical aptitude                    
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and tool room equipment (mills, lathes, drill press, surface grinders, saws to fabricate parts,)                    
  • Aptitude for very close tolerance precision work.                    
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a machine shop or Mold Maintenance department with the ability to read blue prints.                    
  • Work independently.                    
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.                    
  • Ability for daily and weekend overtime work required.                    
  • Experience working with injection molding tools.                    
  • Prior fork lift experience preferred                    
  • Must be able to stand/walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
