The general range for this position is $25.50 – 30.00 hourly. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.

 

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s most effective animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Specialist, Mobile Marketing for the Digital Marketing department. In this position you will work with the Mobile Marketing Team and other departments to provide customer service to the HSUS/HSI SMS community, enhancing brand promotion, brand defense, and donor cultivation. You will also perform other duties to support the organization’s Mobile Marketing campaigns, including SMS campaign setup and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage one-on-one communication and provide customer service to our HSUS/HSI SMS subscriber community. This includes responding to the 50,000+ supporter inquiries that come into our SMS accounts each year and creating SMS reply documentation with a series of pre-written draft responses to frequent questions;
  • Assist in SMS campaign setup and analysis, including creating broadcasts, links, and groups in Mobile Commons, compiling, and analyzing results data from Engaging Networks and creating campaign-specific pages using Confluence and SharePoint;
  •  Work in close partnership with other teams within Marketing, as well as other departments across the organization, to find answers to our supporters' questions and make necessary updates to their records in our donor database. This will also require working closely with Donor Care and IS to manage our SMS opt-in/opt-out data across systems, as well as other duties as needed based on the content of the messages we receive via SMS;
  • Create monthly reports on SMS subscriber sentiment detailing the most common feedback topics for each month as well as other trends based on SMS replies;
  • Assist in maintaining communication with our Upland Mobile Messaging representatives;
  • Research trends in mobile messaging and identify potential opportunities;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or another related field preferred;
  • Experience in writing editorial, marketing, advocacy, or fundraising copy a plus;
  • Experience in SMS marketing a plus;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to manage a high volume of requests quickly and effectively;
  • Strong willingness to work independently to find solutions and answers to subscriber feedback;
  • Strong knowledge of SMS/MMS messaging using an Android or iOS device;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
