Our manufacturing teams typically work four, 10-hour days on either first or second shift and our front-office team works Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM. POSITION SUMMARY

Ultra-Tech, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Welder. Must be able to weld and fit complex assemblies consisting of Aluminum, Titanium, Stainless Steel and 4130 of machined components, tubing and fittings. Must be able to hold tight tolerances, read blueprints and follow written weld procedures. Must be able to design and build complex fixtures as needed.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and production orders.
  • Maintain compliance to business policies and procedures pertaining to safety, housekeeping and work habits.
  • Ensure the product is manufactured to specifications and procedures under the guidelines of customer engineering, industry standards and job travelers.
  • Participate in a welding program including PQR’s, WQP’s and continuity logs.
  • Generate weld maps.
  • Provides technical expertise to problems
  • Requisitions supplies (weld rods, gas, flux, fixtures, etc…).
  • Identify innovative processes and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires minimum 5 years (TIG – Aluminum/SST) welding and fabrication experience.
  • Qualified or has the ability to qualify for aluminum and stainless TIG procedures.
  • Strong comprehension of AWS welding code (AWS 17.1, 1.6, 1.2, 1.1)
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and inspect parts for compliance to print.
  • Operates a variety of machine shop equipment such as grinding wheels, buffers, and drill presses.
  • CWI Certification is a plus.
  • Experience in a NADCAP approved welding facility is a plus.
  • Experience in ISO9001, AS9100 a plus.
  • Capable of using calipers and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Motivated, self-starter, must take on new roles and responsibilities as needed while maintaining a positive, “can do” attitude. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment and to give/receive feedback.

 

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS

This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Thursday, 6:00a.m. to 4:30p.m., with overtime being worked on Fridays as needed.  There may be times where there is an expectation to work extended hours as dictated by business needs.
