ImpactLife is the exclusive provider of blood products and services to our partner hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. The blood center is based in Davenport, Iowa, where ImpactLife's testing, processing, and primary distribution center of blood components is located.  ImpactLife is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

We are currently searching for a Lead, Component Manufacturing Tech.  The Lead will ensure departmental processes and procedures are followed by staff, while maintaining acceptable standards of customer service. The Lead Tech will perform all functions of component preparation ensuring accurate component labeling, handling, documentation, and tracking and traceability. 

 

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. & every other Saturday 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., plus an on-call rotation.

 

Lead Responsibilities can include:

  • Responsible for the support of department and ImpactLife initiatives.
  • Oversee assigned staff including coaching and scheduling duties.
  • Maintain compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor departmental and customer inventory management.
  • Validate processes and equipment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in science related field with appropriate work experience preferred.
  • Relevant technical experience preferred.
  • Supervisory or lead experience is beneficial.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.  
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, and maintain regular and reoccurring physical exertion such as reaching, bending, and lifting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
