ISO New England is the not-for-profit, independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy.

Job duties include the following:

  • Act as team lead on assigned projects and assist junior team member to improve technical solutions.
  • Lead day to day applications support, configure and upgrade vendor applications such as Device42 - asset management, Archer – governance and compliance, Process automation software to latest versions
  • Assist in the evaluation of new and existing software products
  • Provide on- call and off hours support as required to keep mission critical applications operating
  • Work on system analysis and issue investigation to troubleshoot issues by identifying root cause and develop a plan for problem resolution
  • Learn and follow ISO-NE business processes and adhere to ISO-NE software and change management and IT standards
  • Utilize the software development life cycle and manage production business processes to resolve software problems and improvements
  • Prepare required documentation e.g. technical specifications, Unit test, IT product test, Integration test and support related documents
  • Support patching for SQL Server platforms, PostgreSQL, Oracle backend databases related to applications
  • Support Windows and Linux operating systems patching for JDK/JRE & .Net framework-based applications
  • Identify and remediate applications vulnerabilities in a timely manner for compliance
  • Develop and implement solutions based on project requirements with HTML, XML, Web services for software applications integrations, Java scripting, SQL and Crystal reports for reporting
  • Participate as a technical expert in designing, coding, testing, debugging & maintaining new software or significant enhancements to existing software

 

Requirements:

Must have Bachelor’s in Software, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related engineering field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting vendor applications and/or web technologies.
  • The stated experience must also include any amount experience with the following: (1) working with service desk and asset management and performing gap analysis (2) working with HTML, XML, Web services for software applications integrations, Java scripting, SQL- server platforms and Crystal reports for reporting (3) working with UNIX/ Microsoft Windows operating systems
