Purchasing Manager [Santa Ana]

What you will be doing:
- Interview, hire, and train, evaluate, and create succession plans for buyer/planner team members
- Develop new and update existing standards and procedures for the team
- Create desk level training instructions for ERP (Oracle) purchasing and planning duties
- Creates and implements KPIs and Metrics monitor and improve departmental performance to corporate Metrics and Goals
- Advanced knowledge of legal environment of business, ethical standards, purchasing and contracts
- Prepares, evaluates, and makes recommendations to management and executives on Request for Proposals and Requests for Quotations
- Negotiate supplier contracts, make recommendations, and present to the executive team
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, manage supplier contracts, and negotiate contract renewals
- Create and implement supplier management programs to develop, improve, and monitor supplier KPIs ensuring they perform with excellence in Technology, Quality, Responsiveness, Delivery Cost, and Enterprise
- Review and approve purchase requisitions and orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies and budgets
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Monitor inventory levels, track material usage, and implement strategies to minimize stock-outs while optimizing inventory turnover
- Drive Plan-For-Every-Part analysis, active management, and program improvements to maximize efficient flow of materials, continuity of supply, production goals, and storage efficiency
- Own the production plan, material status, and capacity utilization to meet budget and customer delivery dates
- Analyze purchasing and planning data, identify trends, and generate reports to support decision-making and cost reduction initiatives
- Prepares and presents budgets, performance bowlers, and departmental goals contributing to corporate goals
- Develop and lead LEAN trainings, activities, and projects to promote continuous process improvements
- Lead QMS activities and audit preparation for purchasing and planning, ensure team is trained, knowledgeable, and contributing to ISO standards and continuous process improvement
- Act as departmental data champion
- Own the role as Subject Matter Expert
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- Greater than eight years of purchasing/planning/materials management experience in electronic and/or electro-mechanical manufacturing with three or more years of experience in a managerial capacity
- Requires knowledge and understanding of ERP systems
- Oracle experience is preferred
- Experience with Kan Ban, Pull Systems, Free Stock, VMI, and Replenishment Programs
- Must be able to work in a cross-functional environment
- Multitasking and prioritization skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency and able to train others a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to recognize problems, implement solutions, and monitor progress
- Advanced Leadership skills and traits
- LEAN experience or training required
- PFEP and Materials Management experience required
- Technology literate
Iteris anticipates paying between $123,800 and $137,900 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
