511 Operator [Oakland]
Iteris is seeking a 511 Operator to use publicly available sources to collect and disseminate traffic and transit information to the public via TRAMS (Traffic/Transit Reporting Automated Management System). The 511 Operator works with Caltrans and CHP to verify that incident and roadwork information that is being disseminated to the public is accurate. The 511 Operator also works with various transit agencies throughout the Bay Area to accurately disseminate information regarding delays/disruptions or upcoming schedule changes. 511 Operators are designated as essential personnel and must be able to work in all conditions (e.g., severe weather, pandemic). The position requires a full commitment to the team and to the important mission of providing accurate and timely information to the public. AM shift available from 5am - 1:30pm.
What you will be doing:
- Work as a member of a team within an operations control room environment Monitor data feeds to obtain up-to-date traffic-related information
- Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Verify traffic and transit information disseminated to the 511.org and phone systems is accurate and timely Perform periodic system checks of the 511 web and phone systems
- Verify accuracy of data ingested by TRAMS from the CHP CAD and Caltrans LCS Work with Caltrans and CHP staff to verify incident and roadwork information accuracy Work with transit agency staff to verify transit incident information is accurate
- Follow 511 SOPs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What you need to be successful in this role:
- High school graduation (or equivalent) Proficient computer use
- Ability to gain acceptable skills in Windows-based applications within allotted time Ability to successfully complete initial training under the supervision of Management Effective communication in English (written and oral)
- Scheduling flexibility and dependability (overtime and holidays) Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skill
- Excellent attention to detail
- Punctual and reliable schedule adherence
Iteris anticipates paying $28.52 for this role.
