The Administrative Assistant provides office and administrative support for the program such as answering phones, data entry, photocopying, filing, billing, and other tasks that support the smooth operation of the program.

The Mishkon Division provides supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. Our core values are to provide a healthy and safe environment that promotes person centered planning, community integration, and close collaboration with families and the community. This is all accomplished through an Orthodox Jewish lens, and with an understanding that staff, at all levels of the division, is the determining factor in achieving positive outcomes for our clients.

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • High School Diploma and two years of experience working with adults living with mental illness or a BA or BSW Degree and some experience in a community or social service program.in a secretarial/administrative assistant capacity.
  • Experience working with clients with severe mental illness and substance use.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Knowledge of PC software (specifically office automation products) including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint; and comfortable and proficient using audio video platforms (i.e., Zoon/Teams).

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assisting with solving problems related to insurance and billing, working closely with program and central office staff.
  • Maintaining participant attendance books and sign-in and sign- out sheets.
  • Coordinating all aspects of the SNAP BENEFITS (food stamps) program.
  • Uploading our individuals’ food stamps cards monthly on the POS terminal.
  • Sending the monthly report to fiscal and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Annually recertifying our participants.
  • Enrolling new individuals into the SNAP program. 
  • Assisting director and office manager with administrative projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
