How you can make a bigger difference:

 

The Facility Agency Superintendent is responsible for ensuring Oversight, Organization and coordination of all Handymen, Coordination of various teams, Quality control, safety checks and on-site direction as needed. A successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and have the ability to inspire and motivate the team. Assist in the hiring and training of staff, arrange their schedules and work activities.

 

Some responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Delegating maintenance tasks to the rest of the team, and finding relevant vendors and service providers.
  • Manage, inspect and supervise the work of the Facilities Handy-People (union) work force.
  • Analyzing performance of work force and drawing up action plans if applicable.
  • Assessing procedures and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plan
  • Obeying agency regulations, guidelines, policies, and ensuring work force do the same.
  • Ensuring quality control standards are consistently met.
  • Understanding and knowledgeable of supply and material inventories.
  • Purchasing any equipment, tools, or materials that may be required.
  • Ensuring basic tools and machinery are in working order by performing regular inspections or delegating to a responsible person among the work force.
  • Coordinate and follow up on preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and other systems.
  • Coordinate and assist in repairs involving basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Coordinate and assist in repairs involving basic carpentry, roofing and other general building repairs or work.

 

 

 

TO QUALIFY:

●        Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Explorer)

●        Strong analytical skills, organizational ability and attention to detail is a must

●        Must be a self-starter, proactive, flexible, and deadline-focused

●        Ability to work on different projects simultaneously.

●        Good leadership and people skills.

●        Experience in project management

●        Experience with people management

 

EDUCATION / TRAINING PREFERRED:

  • 5 + years of experience in the field
  • Minimum 2 years of college or Equivalent
  • 30 Hour OSHA Card
  • Valid driver’s license
