What you will do here:

As a key member of the Finance team the Business Intelligence Director will lead and oversee Jackson Hewitt's Business Intelligence initiatives and manage the evaluation of data use cases within our Data Governance program.

 

This role is ideal for an independent contributor capable of managing tasks and projects independently, effectively prioritizing multiple responsibilities.

 

  • Strategize: Develop the multi-year roadmap for leveraging data for business insights.
  • Framework Development: Establish how operational data and reporting can enhance decision-making.
  • Prioritization: Ensure the Business Intelligence team's work aligns with multiple stakeholder needs.
  • Catalyst for Change: Enable analysts, particularly new team members, to quickly consume and analyze data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with IT, Legal, Marketing, and other departments.
  • Outcome Achievement: Partner with IT Product Owners to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Data Governance: Collaborate with the Data Privacy officer to set frameworks that balance data usage and compliance requirements.

 

Skills you will bring for success:

This role requires 6 years in roles of progressive responsibility, including several years in managing processes or projects. To excel in this position, this individual should possess excellent critical thinking, strong communication skills and the power of persuasion, acute business acumen, and an unmatched desire to succeed. S/he must have the learning agility, initiative, and energy to both keep up with and contribute to the changing marketplace. This role will require experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to adjust and respond to dynamic business conditions.

 

The ideal candidate should also possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Prior experience implementing strategic projects, change initiatives and business case/requirement development/analysis, preferably within a Business Intelligence function
  • Strong working knowledge of Business Intelligence user needs
  • Deep intellectual curiosity and strong drive to “crack the problem”
  • Ability to work across multiple stakeholders, with occasionally conflicting needs
  • Ability to drive change within an organization
  • Ability to think strategically and practical sense of how to cut to the core issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to communicate the results of complex work to critical senior audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to working in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment
  • The professional gravitas to build strong relationships with a broad range of people across all levels of management
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
