ROLE SUMMARY

The Manufacturing and Reliability Engineering Manager will provide leadership for the Manufacturing Engineering and Reliability Engineering teams.

The Manufacturing Engineer team supports process engineers deployed to tactically support production units by ensuring consistent high performance of manufacturing equipment and processes (quality product, performance improvement, reduction of waste).

The Reliability Engineer team supports production equipment, production support equipment, and equipment quality compliance by maximizing the maintenance related uptime and operating efficiencies of equipment and facilities.

This leader will provide technical program leadership to ensure the site’s asset reliability and quality compliance strategies and programs are aligned with and in support of the site’s overall strategies as well as corporate governance.  

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides guidance, support, and development for manufacturing engineers assigned to production units in support of critical business goals.
  • Develops overall strategies for maintenance reliability programs to include production equipment, production support equipment, and EAMS (CMMS application), provide leadership for developing the tactical plans for implementation, and monitor/advise on the execution of these activities.
  • Provides direction in developing, tracking, reporting, and reacting to appropriate metrics for measuring and improving success of maintenance and OEE strategies implemented.
  • Provides leadership for manufacturing and reliability teams that ensures colleague engagement in a changing environment.
  • Collaborates with peers and leaders within Production (Manufacturing, Maintenance), Engineering (Automation, Facilities), Operational Excellence (Data Analytics, CI, PMO), and Quality groups to ensure the mission, objectives, and strategies are fully executed consistently to support the site operational goals.
  • Assesses colleague resources needed to execute on reliability workload and adjust resourcing levels accordingly and structure organization in such a way to optimize resources available and service to internal customers.
  • Owns and manages CMMS system use and requirements. Promotes use of system throughout the organization.
  • Provide active professional development and performance management support for all team colleagues.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reliability summary reports for all applicable facilities to include actions and results. Reports PM performance and completion for monthly Quality Performance Reviews (QTRs).

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience and a BA/BS degree (or 10 years applicable experience and MS degree) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Integrated Supply Management, or related applicable discipline that will enable the teams to meet mission and business requirements
  • EXPERIENCE: The candidate must demonstrate:
  • Effective colleague engagement, team facilitation, quantitative analysis, and communication skills.
  • Preferred – Training/certification and/or experience in the application of maintenance reliability principles, in particular, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (emphasis on operator care), work control systems to include CMMS, and MRO Inventory Management.
  • Preferred – Training/certification and/or experience in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Equipment Life Cycle Costing, Root Cause Failure Analysis (using DMAIC principles), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness data retrieval, calculations, and reporting.
  • Preferred – Training/certification and/or experience in Predictive/Condition based maintenance.
  • Ability to effectively coach/mentor/influence colleagues and manage diverse relationships.
