Working within the global Lab Systems Solution Delivery team, collaborate and deploy suitable systems to support the laboratory organisations across Kindeva.

Lead and undertake activities necessary to successfully deploy applications according to Kindeva requirements and act as an interface between the customer departments and IT.

This role is based in Loughborough, UK, although a significant proportion of activity will be within the wider organization globally. This role will require site attendance, although some hybrid working may be possible.

 Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the wider Lab Systems team and business groups to deliver IT solutions applicable to laboratory settings that improve operational efficiency and / or deliver enhanced business capabilities. This will involve undertaking activities described within this document.
  • Operates as a senior IT technical role developing a breadth of knowledge on company IT lab solutions and services aimed at supporting business processes and addressing business challenges.
  • Facilitates and delivers technical (eg data flows) and business process maps (process mapping) using common tools to define current and future IT lab solutions and services.
  • Partners closely with the business users / SMEs to identify pain points or business challenges that can be solved with good process and/or technology solutions and/or data automation.
  • Identifies negative scenarios, provides recommendations to address and builds technical or process controls to mitigate IT solution failures.
  • Performs technical fit-gap analysis and functional mapping of off-the-shelf, configurable software with business leads and/or other IT team members.
  • Operates as a technical lead on small IT project teams and as a key contributor on larger, managed enterprise solutions.
  • Evaluates functional data and information flows between systems; diagnoses problems and identifies opportunities for process or technology redesign and improvement.
  • Works closely with PM and project resources (Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Architecture, Business Leads) to implement solutions.
  • Manages IT lab solution changes by developing organisational change impacts and recommendations on solution implementation approaches.
  • Works with senior team members and manager to write detailed technical and configuration specifications for implemented vendor supplied and custom software.
  • Develops testable use cases and supports\executes functional test scripts typical for Vendor and custom configured deployments.
  • Evaluates, designs and configures technical solutions and approaches for appropriate IT solutions that deliver an overall business solution. May be responsible to develop custom “glue” or learn programming to extend the configuration of an existing IT solution, including ‘Python’ and / or similar programming languages.
  • Uses high energy and continued follow-up to bottom out and drive productive internal customer change discussions and sense-based IT solution decision making.
  • Operates as the technical support lead, level 3 operational support (10-20% time), as required, for IT lab applications and systems.
  • Prepares and delivers status presentations to various customer and technical staff on technology proposals, plans, development, and operations.
  • Proposes new IT lab solutions and/or processes and/or data/configuration changes to increase business and system operational efficiency.
  • Performs other duties and roles as required by the IT team and business customers.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, and / or more than 10 years direct experience in a comparative working environment and level.
  • Deep troubleshooting experience with IT systems typical of a pharmaceutical company (eg LIMS, CDS’s ELN, SQC systems, lab scheduling systems, network enabled/complex laboratory equipment)
  • Expertise with cGMP/cGLP validation, GAMP applications and deployments
  • Robust data analysis skills – comfortable with using database querying, data interrogation, and data analysis. Executing data extracts and review cycles to solve technical or project issues.  
  • Comfortable working on and troubleshooting IT aspects of relevant applications; collaborating with colleagues in other departments to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Thorough understanding of IT applications and functions including system integration principles and failure points
  • Comfortable and competent presenting to mid and senior level management regarding work status, technical and/or business challenges.
