ROLE SUMMARY

This position is accountable for:

  • Serving as the lead EHS point of contact and championing EHS & S activities for potential and new product introductions, tech transfer activities to achieve production readiness.  This includes; assuring timely communication, project planning, and schedule management of EHS matters.
  • Provides EHS expertise and inputs in support of bench-scale process development and, high potent chemical banding alignment, high potent chemical banding alignment and other technology transfer activities to be potentially on-boarded within our cGMP manufacturing operations.
  •  EHS Lead for supporting current or potential client Request for Information/Proposal/Quotations (RFIs/RFP/RFQs)RFQs, NPI, colleague on-boarding, as well as an operations liaison during safety pre-start up surrogate testing/line simulations.
  • Managing industrial hygiene, chemical management, environmental requirements, health, and ability to orchestra different types of risks associated with new products and or customers and understand the site’s feasibility and capability to manage those risks within aggressive timelines.
  • Championing ESG and other value-oriented environmental initiatives, not limited to continuous improvement areas of recycling, energy saving practices as well as community stewardship partnering.

 

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze existing and potential new products, processes, equipment, facilities, and programs; develop and implement proactive EHS strategies to minimize injury, illness, property loss, impact on the environment, and business.
  • Identify, and evaluate environmental, health and safety hazards as part of standard process, procedure, product, and operational review practices.  Assess the probability and potential impact of identified risks, and develop and propose feasible, cost-effective EHS risk mitigation solutions.  Provide timely consultation and active support as required for EHS issues relating to implementation of new business.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to assure understanding of their operational and product support needs, connect with EHS and sustainability requirements, align appropriate plans and execute actions to support the requirements.
  • Conducts appropriate environmental, health & safety assessments on operational activity, assess compliance with applicable governmental EHS regulations, policies, and guidelines, and recommend and support implementation of actions to reduce corporate vulnerability and assuring compliance and preventing business interruption.to evaluate adherence to applicable governmental EHS regulations, policies, and guidelines. Assesses the Company's vulnerability to monetary fines, litigation, and business interruption.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding and working knowledge of existing and proposed changes in federal and state industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental regulations, which affect operations. 
  • Participates in regulatory inspections and inquiries involving environmental, health and safety issues.  Acts as a consultant/ technical expert during resolution of any proposed corrective actions.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of EHS computer databases and utilizes a wide variety of other internal and external databases.  Conducts detailed analyses of work-related accidents, employee exposures, and chemical and environmental information.  Conducts analyses to identify trends, including costs and potential risks, as needed.  Formulate cost effective alternatives for corrective actions.
  • Successfully completes training required to perform job assignments and seeks out additional training opportunities to enhance skills and abilities for program compliance and improvements.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by EHS Site Lead.
