Summary of Position
Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MS&T) Sr. Manager will manage and lead Process Engineering teams. They will work collaboratively with the internal teams to ensure manufacturing can respond to customer needs and drive operational excellence. MS&T teams are responsible for customer tech transfer, and reliability of equipment. The Sr. MS&T Manager will be responsible to maintain metrics related to Customer satisfaction, Equipment Reliability and CapEx projects.


Job Responsibilities

Customer Projects

  • Evaluate new customer product/process tech transfer and provide feedback to sales and marketing.
  • Assist with new customer product/process cost estimate.
  • Evaluate and suggest the required equipment and fixtures needed for the new products.  Provide equipment cost estimates for the purpose developing customer proposals.
  • Interface with the existing and new customers to address their concerns and needs on regular basis.
  • Assist with developing strategies for new products submission to regulatory bodies.

Process Engineering

  • Leading the process engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in plant performance and productivity.
  • Implementing strategic planning on all production equipment and processes activities for the Northridge plant.
  • Assist on determining capital requirements necessary for the plant to maintain its ability to meet customer requirements.
  • Supporting, managing and leading the process engineering team to meet overall plant and business objectives.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement of training, scheduling, safety, operating costs, and other aspects of plant operations.
  • Identify innovative new technologies to improve plant output and equipment efficiency.
  • Managing employee performance in adherence to site policies and procedures.  
  • Championing special projects as identified.

 

Key Working Relationships
This role must maintain strong working relationships cross-functionally with customers, business partners and peers across multi-disciplined functions at the site.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of process or project engineering and supervisory experience in a private, public, government.
  • Experience in technical aspects of a new product introduction to market is a big plus.
  • Good understanding and experience of automated product manufacturing equipment.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Skills include strong written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to interface with internal customers, management and outside vendors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and salesmanship skills to interface with the company customers and the abilities to influence them.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutica Drug Delivery, Pharmaceutical drug manufacturing, or Medical Device manufacturing is preferred.
