BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

Launch, develop, promote, and support the sale of Kubota Commercial Turf Equipment, which includes Lawn and Garden equipment such as zero turn mowers, stand on mowers and other walk-behind mowing equipment by providing outstanding industry insight, product knowledge and competitive sales information to dealer network and personnel within the division to maximize their potential for success and increase Company sales and market share.

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:  This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:

  • This position will be responsible for growing commercial sales penetration in the assigned markets and for the Kubota in-house share with assigned dealers.
    • Analyze and project both quarterly and annual sales growth for each assigned dealer.
    • Develop a clear and concise business plan that achieves incremental sales growth which is agreed upon by the Regional Sales Manager and Dealer Principle.
    • Work with select dealers in assigned markets to develop their Turf business by examining dealer's local market, suggesting stocking and opportunities for the Commercial Turf market.
    • Identify target acquisition customers in collaboration with Dealer Management and sales personnel by tracking and reporting bi-weekly on each acquisition target’s lead-identification to lead the conversion process.
  • Gather industry and competitive marketing / sales program information and make recommendations for Company programs to increase the Company’s sales and market share for Commercial Turf products.
  • Assist in projects and support other team members on turf-related business needs.  This includes supporting the Regional Sales Managers to help recruit, build, and maintain an industry dealer network of Commercial Turf Equipment.
  • Support new product development and existing product improvements in the Commercial Turf product lines through participation in product / program surveys.
  • Hold training events to impart product knowledge, industry trends, and other competitive information to dealer and division sales personnel to maximize their potential for success.
    • Perform equipment demonstrations for dealers and customers. Train dealer personnel to demonstrate equipment to customers including riding with dealer salesperson to call-on commercial accounts.
    • Support development of content for product training in coordination with Turf Training Manager within Kubota University.
  • Dealer and Industry Events: Actively plan and support assigned Dealer events (open house etc.) by developing specific promotion programs. Actively seek out local and regional trade shows within assigned markets and take leadership in recruiting dealers and supporting them on those shows. Participate and support national trade shows as necessary.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related degree preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, 7 years related experience in Commercial Agricultural or Turf equipment industry required. 5 years related experience in Commercial Agricultural or Turf equipment industry preferred. This experience includes 2 years of successful sales experience in Commercial Turf equipment.
  • KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of a Dealer channel and working directly with Dealer Management is preferred.
  • TECHNOLOGY: Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages.
  • TRAVEL: Ability to travel 75%.

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:  Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Communicating in Spanish is a plus.

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

  • All equipment including Zero Turn Mowers, tractors, and implements
  • Also, office equipment including computer, copier, phone, printer

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds; must be able to couple truck and trailer, load, unload, secure and strap equipment.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Must be able to mentor & provide ongoing support
  • Ability to manage and complete projects autonomously
  • Must be willing and able to travel by car and by airplane to include overnight stays for as much as two weeks at a time.
  • Incumbent will be responsible for safely operating company issued vehicle and trailer over long distances in accordance with all state and federal laws and Kubota policies including, but not limited to DOT regulations.  Incumbent will be responsible for transporting turf equipment to and from trade shows and product demonstrations; can be responsible for up to $500,000 of inventory.
